Frequently Asked Questions

Someone I know is missing, will NFLST come out if I call?

NFLST is deployed only upon request by an authorized government agency. Activation is coordinated through the agency having jurisdiction over the incident, including emergency management, law enforcement, fire departments, or emergency medical services. This ensures all responses are properly managed, legally supported, and integrated into official operations.

Does NFLST search for missing animals?

North Florida Search Team (NFLST) responds strictly to human-related emergencies and does not conduct searches for missing animals. Our operations focus on critical incidents such as missing persons, endangered individuals, and cold cases.

The North Florida Search Team, Inc., is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization primarily focused on assisting in the search for missing persons. Additionally, we provide resources to support emergency response efforts when needed.

Please note: NFLST will not respond to calls unless officially requested by an emergency response agency with authority over the jurisdiction.

If you believe our assistance is needed, please contact your local law enforcement agency and inform them of our organization.

We do not conduct searches for lost or missing animals.
