Off Duty
Never Forgotten

We honor the memory of the dedicated Search and Rescue K9s whose service and loyalty made a lasting impact on every mission. Their tireless work, unwavering focus, and bond with their handler helped bring answers and hope to those in need. Though no longer with us, their legacy continues to inspire and guide our team.

K9 Trent

Trenton Forrest “Trent”

August 23, 2021 – September 10, 2025

Trent was an exceptional dog known for his speed, drive, and dedication. At 18 months, he was the fastest German Shepherd Dog in Hydrodash (dock diving) before a back injury ended his competitive career.

He earned his HRD Level II Ground certification on October 21, 2023, and served in the field for approximately 1½ years. Trent later became critically ill, and after developing sepsis twice within three months, he was unable to recover.

Trent will be deeply missed, and his service will not be forgotten.

To see Trent and his handler in action, view “Planting Bodies” (starting at 6:44) at the link below.

K9 Zac

Zac began his career in tracking before transitioning to HRD. He had been a certified HRD professional since 2018.
